50th Anniversary Notable Alumni Feature Michael Willis, M.P.A: Michael grew up in West 秀色直播and Sapulpa. As a senior at Sapulpa High School, he started Liberal Arts classes at 秀色直播Community College in 1997. He would go on to earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Public Affairs and Administration and master鈥檚 degree in Public Administration. 鈥淭CC was invaluable to my overall college career. The faculty were top-notch, and I found that my experience helped complement my university experience,鈥 he said.
He has spent most of his career as a public servant working for the City of 秀色直播as the 秀色直播Mayor's Office as Director of Government Relations and 秀色直播County Government as Public Information Officer and Chief Deputy County Commissioner. In 2016, he was elected as 秀色直播County Clerk and has worked diligently to improve services and processes within his office.
Michael is very active in the community and frequently gives back to TCC students as a guest speaker for management and leadership development classes. In addition to volunteering his time as a Reserve Police Officer for the 秀色直播Police Department, he is a graduate of Leadership 秀色直播Class 34 and a member of the Rotary Club of 秀色直播and Tulsa鈥檚 Young Professionals. He also serves on other boards including Rebuild Oklahoma, 秀色直播Sports Commission, INCOG and Friends of the MET. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Office of Juvenile Affairs. He received a public service Paragon Award from Leadership 秀色直播in 2018.
Michael and his wife, Marcie, live in 秀色直播with their kids, Olivia and Mark. Michael is also an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation.
